Three Summers

This movie is from our archive and is not currently screening.

In the fictitious music festival ‘Westival’ over the course of three summers, we follow the lives of a variety of diverse characters representing modern Australia - the Morris Men, the Aboriginal dance troupe, the Afghan World Music players - as they navigate the trials and tribulations of life. Part dramatic, part comedic, and ultimately romantic, the film speaks to our commonality whilst maintaining a subtle politic story line on inclusiveness and assimilation in contemporary Australia society. And at the heart of this story are central characters Roland, an Australian naturalised Pom theremin player and professional dog-washer and Australian lass, Keevey, a free spirited, fully emancipated, genius fiddle player who doesn't yet recognise this in herself. Over the course of three summers, these two will come together, split apart and ultimately make good and come together again in true rom-com fashion.
